St Walter 2022: Montepulciano
- In 2022, St Walter: Montepulciano was made by blending barrel aged golden mixed culture fermentation ale with 476kg of whole bunch NSW Montepulciano courtesy of our good friends at Ravensworth. After a four month maceration and refermentation of fruit and beer, it was bottled and allowed to naturally carbonate and mature in bottle for 2.5 months before release.
- Ripe fruit flavours dominate, cherry, plum and blackcurrants in spades. Savoury oak and stalk spice lift the nose. Confectionery elements of raspberry and grape gum create layers of interest. Bold and robust. Strong vinous palate. Structured and powerful. Plum, sweet cherry and inky brambley purple fruits to the fore. Raspberry liquorice and herbal spice temper the tannin grip. Mild herbal digestive elements, spice and a soft acidity to close.
