Named after Maggie, the matriarch and "sovereign of sass" of the winery's dog pack, this Syrah is all about bold elegance. Sourced from the cooler southern part of Heathcote on Taungurung Country, it undergoes a thoughtful winemaking process involving 17 days on skins with daily pumpovers. It is then matured for seven months in large format (500L) French oak puncheons.

The result is a wine that is lighter and brighter than your "usual" Heathcote Shiraz. It offers a vibrant bouquet of blueberries, sour cherries, and pomegranate, grounded by a savoury lick of leather and earth. While it has an uplifting acidity and a gentle mouthfeel, it does not lack body or structure, making it a sophisticated yet highly drinkable red.
